About Niall Sullivan
Niall Sullivan is a bassist from Staten Island, New York. He first started piano at 5 years. Niall then furthered his music education learning the trombone at 10 years old. He then started to play the bass at the end of middle school, listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Motown, and Green Day. At Providence College in Rhode Island, Niall was drawn to funk music from artists such as Parliament, James Brown, and Rick James. He enjoys helping co-produce and co-write original music with local arts such as The Jazztronauts, Tyrone Briggs, Eddy I., Chris Valentine and other local artists. Niall enjoys fusing his funk influences with his classic rock influences to create tastefully orchestrated and grooving bass lines.
Niall has worked as teacher in the New York City Department of Education for approximately four and half years. He has taught students of all ages, from Pre-K up to eighth grade. Niall has taught general music classes, led beginner band ensembles, instructed after school piano classes, and conducted chorus ensembles.
